In the near future when humans depend on robots, Max (the irresistibly funny Blanche Gardin, Everybody Loves Jeanne - SFFF 2023), a former teacher resistant to technology, scrapes by with her pre-teen daughter Paula thanks to small-time scams, like selling stolen robots on the black market. When their latest “acquisition,” T-O (Théo), proves too old to be recycled at their usual reseller, Max has no choice but to keep it, to the pleasure of Paula who dreams of owning her own robot. T-O turns out to be entertaining yet clumsy, and quite exasperating with its eagerness to prove helpful.
But when, following their latest scheme, Max loses custody of Paula, she can only rely on T-O’s help, and T-O is ready to do anything for her. Together, they embark on a journey to find Paula and prove that there is still some humanity left in this world, maybe even inside a robot.

With its sweet, absurd humor and lowtech futuristic road-movie vibe, Robot T-O, the first feature by Giulio Callegari, is a true delight for the whole family (if you don’t mind some colorful language!)
