It's refreshing to see an optimistic story about an older woman who is funny, smart, and desirable. Katherine Vu - Village Voice
The well-observed script touches on a number of everyday issues about the aging process - whether you're pushing 40 or passing 60 - that add a tender and enlightening layer to this engaging, leisurely paced film. Gary Goldstein - Los Angeles Times

For recently retired, 60-year-old dentist Caroline (the sumptuous Fanny Ardant, 8 Women, Confidentially Yours), a new life of freedom and opportunity lies before her. She now has time to take care of her children, her loving husband, and most of all, herself. To celebrate her retirement, her daughters give her a one-year membership to the local seniors' club, Les Beaux Jours. Needless to say, the sophisticated Caroline is not impressed by either her daughters' present, nor by the ceramics and amateur theater classes that the club has to offer.
When the center’s computer instructor Julien (Laurent Lafitte), a handsome womanizer, starts flirting with her, she is amused, then aroused, and, though he is 20 years her junior, they begin an affair. Soon Caroline finds herself in the midst of a second youth – taking a new lover, living exciting experiences, breaking the rules, not doing what’s expected of her, living closer and closer to danger... Will her retirement mark the end of her marriage?
The film earned Fanny Ardant her fifth César nomination (she won in 1997 for Pédale Douce).
