During a medical exam, Héléna (Annabelle Hettmann), a student in anatomical drawing, meets Benoît (Thibault Vinçon, Born in '68 - SFFF 2009), a young radiologist. Their mutual fascination for the human body entices them to start a passionate romance.

Héléna and Benoît are drawn together by a common belief: that they can learn to know each other intimately by exploring each other's body, inside and out.

This leads them to a dangerous journey to where there may be no limits…

The Sentiment of the Flesh may remind body horror's fans of David Cronenberg, the Canadian filmmaker (The Fly, 1986, Dead Ringers, 1988, Crash 1996, A History of Violence, 2005) who is the ultimate representative of the genre. There even is an adjective derived from his name: "Cronenbergian". But filmmaker Roberto Garzelli sees his inspiration coming from Marco Ferreri's cinema (The Big Feast, 1973, The Flesh, 1991).
