Shot before last January's Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris, this French thriller about a journalist infiltrating a jihadist cell strikes raw nerve as it anticipates recent tragedies. Peter Debruge - Variety

The unpleasant feeling to have in front of you a monster hidden under the usual mask is the great artistic success of "Made in France". Thomas Coispel - Le Blog du Cinema

Dense, suspenseful and fascinating, this film "Made in France" is one of the best these days. Alain Spira - Paris Match

(It) is remarkably performed by actors who are each better than the other, and concerned, as are few French films, with the real state of the country. Isabelle Regnier - le Monde

This darkly atmospheric terrorism thriller about a journalist infiltrating a homegrown jihadist cell in Paris takes you on a white-knuckle ride. Directed by Nicolas Boukhrief, this premonitory film was shot before the January 7 and November 13 attacks in Paris. It was never released in theaters in France.

Sam (Malik Zidi) is a Franco-Algerian freelance journalist hoping to write a book exposing the threat of domestic terrorism. Using his knowledge of Islam, he infiltrates a small group of extremists led by Hassan (Dimitri Storoge), an angry shoe salesman who has just come back from a trip abroad with vivid stories of jihadist training camps in Turkey, Iran and Pakistan. The group is composed of Christophe (François Civil), a new convert, a son of well-to-do Catholic parents; Driss (Nassim Si Ahmed), an aggressive ex-con who met Hassan in prison; and Sidi (Ahmed Drame, Once in a Lifetime – Fall Mini Fest 2015), the youngest of the bunch, an African immigrant who quickly starts having misgivings about their violent path. Hassan tells his fellow believers that they have been chosen by Al Qaeda to bring jihad to the streets of Paris. When things start getting out of hand, Sam finally contacts the police, only to be told that they need him to stay in the group as an informant. With the lives of his wife and son at stake, Sam is starting to seriously feel the heat.

With well-crafted action sequences and ever-growing suspense, Made in France will keep you on the edge of your seat.
