Standing Tall is a poignant and optimistic social drama by the eclectic director-actress Emmanuelle Bercot (On My Way - SFFF 2014, starring in My King at this year's SFFF, a role that earned her the Best Actress Award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival), starring Catherine Deneuve, Benoît Magimel (César for Best Supporting Actor) and Rod Paradot (César for Most Promising Actor).

Since the age of six, Malony (Rod Paradot, excelling in his very first role) has constantly been in and out of juvenile court as his young single mother (Sara Forestier) struggles to raise him. An adoptive family grows around this young delinquent: Florence (Catherine Deneuve), a juvenile judge, and Yann (Benoît Magimel), a caseworker and himself the survivor of a very difficult childhood. Together they follow the boy’s journey and try unfailingly to save him.

Now sixteen years old, Malony is sent to a stricter educational center where he meets Tess (Diane Rouxel), a young girl who will show him that there are reasons for hope. Will that be enough to save him?
