REVIEWS
There hasn't been a more charming French film this year. Allan Hunter - The List
Feather-light, yet finally profound and packed with both visual ideas and delightful banter, "The Sweet Escape" ("Comme un avion") from French filmmaker Bruno Podalydes is another home run. Boyd van Hoeij - Hollywood Reporter
There’s a definite whiff of Wes Anderson about actor/director Bruno Podalydès Comme Un Avion (...) It a delightful film, full of subtle humor which swings between absurd, surreal comedy and Jacques Tatiesque gentle slapstick. French Cinema Review |

A delightful adventure-comedy about a man who sets off to escape his boring life on a kayak. From writer, director, and star Bruno Podalydes (Adieu Berthe - SFFF 2013), co-starring Sandrine Kiberlain (9-Month Stretch - SFFF 2014, Number One Fan - SFFF 2015).
Fifty-year-old Michel is a computer graphic artist with a passion for the aerial postal service, and who pretends to be French aviator Jean Mermoz whenever he hops on his scooter. One day, a series of photos of a kayak stop Michel in his tracks: the kayak looks just like a plane fuselage! He falls in love immediately, orders a kayak kit, and spends hours paddling on his roof, too afraid to take the plunge. Encouraged by his wife, he finally puts the kayak on the water, and leaves for a solo adventure down the river...
