THE BEAUTY OF THE REAL - WITH MICK LASALLE

A social romance from 1999 when unemployment was a big issue in France, and relevant again today.

Marie (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi) has been unemployed for over a year. Depressed and with little to do, she bumps into Pierre who used to work for the same firm and was also laid off. Their new friendship soon turns into an affair. But their relationship has less to do with love than with a need to fill up their empty days.

Shown with Révolution by Nadia Jandeau.

Q&A with film critic Mick LaSalle follows the Saturday screening.

Saturday, June 16 - 3:15pm & Sunday, June 17 - 11am
